Camp Beacon is Kentucky’s first summer camp for LGBTQ youth. Teens will
enjoy a traditional summer camp experience in a welcoming, inclusive
environment with their peers.
Our camp is open to LGBTQ+ identifying youth between the ages of 13-17 residing in Kentucky. Our dorms and bathrooms will be gender-neutral.
Our camp facility has zip-lining, equine activities, arts & crafts and more
summer camp staples. We also have special guests and sessions on social-
We have an amazing staff of volunteer camp counselors, as well as mental
health professionals on-site for 24/7 assistance. All camp staff will have undergone a background check prior to camp. Camp Beacon founders and leadership team are unpaid volunteers. The only compensation is a small stipend that will be paid to our on site youth counselors
Our camp is located in Central Kentucky but the exact location will only be
revealed to campers once they are registered. This is for the privacy and safety
of our campers and staff.
Our 2023 session will be held July 12-15.
We are diligently fundraising so camp can be FREE for all campers! If you wish
to contribute any amount to your camp fees, we accept donations through
GiveLively. Again, camp is FREE for campers, only donate if you wish.

set up an online intake meeting. This helps us confirm the intention and
sincerity of applicants. After the intake we will let you know if you have
secured a spot or are on the waiting list. All campers have to be enrolled by a parent/guardian.
There is no day camp option. All campers will be required to stay overnight.
We can accommodate most dietary restrictions. The camper registration form will ask for details about your child's dietary needs and a camp staffer can discuss those further with guardians as needed.
